FAQ — Good to Know

How fit do I need to be?
Regular hikers who can manage back‑to‑back 6–8 hr trekking days do well. We recommend arriving a day early, hydrating well and following a slow, steady pace.
Why 7 days on the mountain?
Adding the Karanga camp night improves acclimatization versus a 6‑day plan, increasing summit success while reducing risk.
What about altitude sickness?
We follow ‘climb high, sleep low,’ do daily health checks, and carry oxygen (all tiers) plus a hyperbaric bag (Luxury/Ultra). Your guide will manage pace and safety decisions.
Toilets & showers?
A private toilet tent is included from Classic. Luxury/Ultra add enhanced wash setups, and Ultra may include a private shower tent at lower camps when water access allows.
Luggage & porters?
The duffel carried by porters is typically limited to ~12–15 kg. Bring a 25–35 L daypack for water, layers and snacks.
When is the best time to climb?
Jan–Feb and Jun–Oct are the driest. Mar–May and Nov are rainy; we still operate with wet‑weather systems and adjusted expectations.
